The Department of Medicine plays an important role as the major healthcare provider of medical illnesses for the population of the northern part of Yilan country, with nationwide-recognized quality of care. The department includes 154 beds for general medical patients, 33 beds for hemodialysis, 12 beds for hospice and terminal care, 10 beds for chronic respiratory care, 17 beds for respiratory care unit, and a 16-bed intensive care unit. We have a large outpatient volume with approximately 1000 visits per day.
Our department includes 14 subspecialties, including Cardiology, Hematology/Oncology, Gastroenterology, Pulmonary, Nephrology, Endocrinology, Neurology, Rheumatology, Infectious diseases, Occupational Medicine, Toxicology, Radiotherapy, Family Medicine, and Traditional Medicine. Currently, we have 20 full-time visiting physicians and 23 residents. Our expertise cover many areas, including chemotherapy and targeted therapy, endoscopic diagnostics and treatment of upper gastrointestinal tract diseases, chronic hepatitis management, cardiac catheterization and PTCA, electrophysiological examination and treatment, management of endocrine diseases, hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis, treatment of infectious diseases (including HIV-related), pulmonary disease treatment, auto-immune diseases treatment, and occupational hazards and toxicology.
